The Platform North Forum 2026
For the second year in a row, the Swedish Transport Administration arranged the Platform North Forum in Luleå, on 17-18 March.
A conference that brought together speakers and participants from all three Nordic countries, but also from other European countries.
Like last year's conference, there was great interest and 160 participants were on hand to gather around the theme "Nordic cooperation in the North - transport infrastructure for competitiveness, preparedness and green industrial transition". The conference program highlighted many aspects of the challenges facing the Nordic countries; transport and mobility in Europe, the Arctic perspective, military mobility, financing, the business community's need for road and rail transport and much more.
The collaboration initiated in Platform North has been strengthened with a memorandum of understanding signed by national authorities, regional authorities, politically controlled regions and business organizations operating in northern Norway, northern Finland and northern Sweden, which was highlighted during the conference.
The Swedish Transport Administration has held the chairmanship since Platform North was initiated in 2024. The conference ended with the chairmanship being handed over to Norway and the Norwegian public roads administration.
