Digital Course India November 2020
The Road to Vision Zero in India: We arranged a three day digital training course on Road Safety.
On 4-6th November 2020, the vision Zero Academy, in close cooperation with Sweden India Business Council (SIBC) and Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) organised a three day digital course on “The Road to Vision Zero” for approximately 200 senior officers of state road transport, public transport and national highway authorities in India. The course took place in the framework of the Sweden-India Transport, Innovation and Safety Partnership (SITIS).
The course had participants from all over India and road safety experts from the Swedish Transport Administration, The Swedish National Road and Transport Research Institute (VTI), Research Institutes of Sweden (RISE), The Swedish Transport Agency, Autoliv, Volvo Trucks, the Swedish Police and Folksam/SAFER participated as speakers. The experts shared their extensive knowledge and experience on road safety, from different perspectives. One of the main takeaways from the course is that collaboration is a key aspect for reaching the vision zero.
The Indian Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Government of India, Mr. Nitin Gadkari and the Swedish Ambassador to India, Mr Klas Molin, took part in the inauguration session of the event.
