How we procure

The Swedish Transport Administration (Trafikverket) is a government agency and is legally required to always strive to procure goods, services, and contracts through competition. Here you will find information about how we conduct procurement.

On the pages gathered under the heading “How we procure,” you will find, among other things, examples of tender documents, what suppliers need to consider when submitting bids, and the rules regarding bid supplements. We have also compiled some key requirement areas and regulations that are important in our procurement processes.

Trafikverket's procurements must comply with the Public Procurement Act (LOU) and the Act on Procurement in the Water, Energy, Transport, and Postal Services Sectors (LUF). These laws are based on EU procurement directives. Therefore, each public procurement within the EU must follow a number of fundamental EU principles. This means that we must treat suppliers in an equal and non-discriminatory manner. We must also carry out our procurements in a transparent way.
