The Swedish Transport Administration is planning to replace tracks, switches and overhead line on approximately 80 kilometres of the Viskadalsbanan line between Borås and Varberg.
Tracks, switches and overhead line have reached the end of their technical lifetime and must therefore be replaced. The replacement work will increase reliability and reduce the maintenance costs of the stretch of line.
Preparatory work is planned to be done in 2019-2020. The tasks will include environmental tests, measuring and the burying of cables in the embankment.
