Transport of indivisible load without exemption
Transport of wide or long indivisible loads can, in certain cases, be carried out without an exemption.
Wide indivisible load
Transport of an indivisible load with a width of at most 350 cm can be carried out without an exemption decision, if the conditions in the Swedish Transport Agency regulations TSFS 2010:141 are followed.
The greatest allowable width (260 cm), however, may not be exceeded in the transport of metal sheets, plates, building slabs, and similar thin load units, or in the transport of containers, tanks, or other receptacles containing general cargo, liquids, gas, or other divisible load.
Note that the regulations apply only to trips with wide indivisible loads.
Long indivisible load
Transport of long indivisible loads where the length of the vehicle combination exceeds 24 metres can be carried out without an exemption decision, if the conditions in Swedish Transport Agency regulations TSFS 2010:142 are followed.
The greatest allowable length according to the regulations is 30.0 metres. One condition is that the load may not project out in front of the vehicle combination or more than 5.0 metres behind the centre of the rearmost axle.
Note that the regulations apply only to trips with long indivisible loads.
If you have any questions regards the regulations, please contact the Swedish transport Agency (Transportstyrelsen).
