Invitation to supplier dialogue sessions in October 2024
We are pleased to invite suppliers to participate in a continued dialogue regarding the construction of a new lock in Lilla Edet.
This initiative is part of the "Locks in Trollhätte canal" program, which includes the construction of new locks in Trollhättan, Lilla Edet, and Vänersborg. The program is a collaboration between the Swedish Transport Administration and the Swedish Maritime Administration and is included in the National plan with an estimated total cost of SEK 8.9 billion (at 2024 price levels).
The purpose of these dialogue sessions is to present the upcoming procurement process, including the qualification criteria and the next steps. The meeting will be held online via Skype. Both contractors and consultants are welcome to attend.

Procurement and schedule
The existing lock in Lilla Edet is over 100 years old, its technical lifespan is expected to end by 2030. The Swedish Transport Administration will oversee and secure the implementation of the new lock in Lilla Edet. In addition to the complete lock, the contract will also include e.g. securing the existing lock, cut och fill works for new maritime fairway, slope stabilization, relocation of affected utilities etc.
