We have expanded the freight line through Hallsberg to double track.
What have we built?
The double track expansion through Hallsberg connects to the existing double track going northwards, towards Örebro, and the future double track that will go southwards, towards Mjölby. We have also built a new track next to the existing track between the marshalling yard and the Western Main Line.
Construction started in 2017. Both tracks on the Western Main Line are open. Both tracks on the freight line through Bergslagen opened in November 2020.
In spring 2022, we built four new turnouts on the Western Main Line and the freight line through Bergslagen.
We have undertaken noise protection measures by changing windows and building acoustic walls and noise barriers.
